Television Academy Foundation
Nurturing the Next Generation of Television Talent
THE CHALLENGE
As the entertainment industry undergoes technological advancements and changes in consumer behavior, there is a growing need to ensure that educational institutions are preparing students for the careers of tomorrow. The Television Academy Foundation recognized that to maintain its leadership in nurturing television talent, it needed to provide educators with insights into emerging trends and the skills that would be in demand in the future. The challenge was to create programming that not only explained current industry practices but also delved into the future of creative jobs in areas such as VFX, virtual production, and localization.
OUR APPROACH
CVL Economics partnered with the Television Academy Foundation to present at its annual Media Educators Conference, which brings together over 100 college educators from across the country for an immersive, multi-day event in Los Angeles. Our research focused on "Creative Jobs of the Future," highlighting the increasing demand for specific skill sets and projecting how this demand will evolve over the next decade. Our research and presentations offered educators actionable insights into how they could better prepare their students for these future roles. We also engaged with industry professionals and academic leaders to discuss how educational institutions could adapt their curricula to meet the evolving needs of the entertainment industry.
